ESOPs seem to do the same thing -- give employees a sense of
ownership and recognize their dedication -- but in more of a structured and
traditional corporate environment.

I’m glad that I know this exists now. But, why didn't I learn about ESOPs in
college? Career Services departments at American universities could do their
students a favor by explaining ESOPs and providing a list of ESOP companies.

I just googled "list of ESOP companies." Not
surprised that Publix is an ESOP company -- I always wondered why Publix
employees were so cheery and invested in their work and customer service. I'm
sure the ESOP culture contributes to that. Kudos to Publix management.

Re: http://esca.us/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=2499:greg-klein&catid=44:blog&Itemid=98

Great initiative.
I agreed what's said above.
Certain 2 facts on this page are unequivocally the best we have all had.I am going to glance up this web site usually on my PC. Everything in this blog is completely true!

Re: http://esca.us/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=2509:greg-klein&catid=44:blog&Itemid=98

Inland Truck Parts Company is one of the leading providers of wholesale truck equipment and parts. While the
Baby Boomers have had to recalibrate their thinking, my generation has been
told from day one that we were going to have to take care of ourselves (and for
many, Boomer parents as well) in retirement.

To
some extent, the driving force between finding a secure career path (still
difficult) for my generation is that looming day in the future we are going to
have to inevitably leave the work force and, with fingers crossed, hope we have
amassed enough to last us through the end of our lives. This mentality, while perhaps more stress-inducing,
is at least well-informed; and through it, we’ve been able to avoid the jarring
retirement bait-and-switch the Boomers have had to live through.

Unfortunately,
those of us who make up the incoming and up-and-coming workforce are not well
versed in the existence of options like ESOPs let alone the specific benefits. Perhaps with more focus on educating this
Retirement-Is-Not-A-Given generation, the demand for employee-owned company
structures will increase.
